uPVC entrance door with letterbox

Over at the Weru factory in German, they think people are mad for wanting a uPVC entrance door with a letterbox. To them, it’s just a draught hole that ruins all their hard work on insulation. But in the Netherlands a front door letterbox is pretty standard and they usually agree in the end, even if they grumble a bit. So if you decide to go Dutch with a letterbox in your front door, just ask. We’ll check if one can be installed in the door of your choice.

Tip: Integrate your letterbox, doorbell, nameplate or intercom into a side panel. It’s a smart and stylish alternative to a traditional uPVC entrance door with built-in letterbox.

Many of the doors are available with a matching sidelight in a uPVC frame, whether on the left, right or on either side. Entrance door with double or triple glazing

To ensure excellent insulation, all doors and sidelights are fitted with high-efficiency (or HR++) double glazing as standard, with the option to upgrade to triple glazing. For added security, we always use laminated thermal safety glass on the outer panes.

Door frame and threshold

Looking for a uPVC entrance door and frame? Weru has you covered. The frame always comes included, as it’s important for the door’s overall thermal insulation. A Weru uPVC door insulates brilliantly, but pairing it with a natural stone sill can ruin the insulation value in an instant. Stone conducts heat, which is why a stone floor feels colder than carpet or wooden flooring. Weru uPVC entrance doors feature an integrated threshold made of composite material. It looks just as beautiful as natural stone, but actually keeps the warmth inside.

With German engineering, you can expect top-tier burglary protection. But if you want maximum peace of mind, you can upgrade the security level to Resistance Class RC1 or RC2 with:

• AutoLock Plus: A mechanical self-locking automatic locking system with three latch bolts that secure the door the moment it is pulled shut.
• Anti-lift protection: Heavy-duty locking bolts and keeps that protect the door against forced entry on the hinge side.
• Security escutcheon: Adds extra protection against drilling, pulling and tampering with the lock cylinder.
• Janus high-security cylinder: A unique cylinder with no master key, fitted with hardened steel security pins and designed to meet the highest security standards.
• P4A glazing: Laminated safety glass with a security film between the panes.

Door chain and digital spyhole

If you want to open the door slightly just to check who’s there without compromising your safety, Weru TwinLock is a great solution. It works just like a door chain, but it’s much stronger. An alternative is the digital spyhole: it lets you see who is at the door on a small screen, while the door stays firmly shut.

A Weru uPVC entrance door is designed with comfort built in. Take the optional electronic door release, for instance, which lets you unlock the door via the intercom.
